ELL conversation groups are held in local libraries led by experienced tutors. These classes serve men and women from many countries and ethnicities. The groups generate their own conversational topics with focus on helping learners gain practical language and fluency in survival English, American culture, health literacy, as well as covering family and workplace literacy.

Immigrants who are eligible and who have good English language fluency can work with a tutor or join a Citizenship Class to prepare for the United States Naturalization Exam. Keep in mind that time to prepare for this test is dependent on an individual's speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Our Annual Tutor – Learner Celebration is always a wonderful event where tutors, learners, staff, and community come together to celebrate Literacy. The event is an exhibit of photos, essays, and poems written by learners in our Literacy program highlighted by individuals reading aloud from their own words.

For some learners, the environment of a classroom doesn't suit their learning style or schedule. Therefore, learning with a trained tutor may be a better option. You many have a specific goal related to work, school, or a  personal one which we can help you work towards. All learners start our program by registering and taking an assessment in order to determine their learning level before meeting with a tutor.

We offer Beginner and Intermediate English language classes. Students may register for the class that best fits their language level along with attending a Conversation Class. Class times vary by library location and most are two hour sessions. Contact your local coordinator to learn more and to register for a class.

We can customize your preparation for the TASC Test beginning with an assessment to determine the specific areas of instruction you will need to focus your studies on. Plan on meeting with a tutor for at least 3-4 hours per week and we can work with you to find a time that is convenient for your schedule.
